Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake won’t be at Ubisoft Forward
Ubisoft has confirmed the absence of the highly anticipated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake from the forthcoming Ubisoft Forward event, a revelation that has left fans eagerly awaiting updates on the game’s progress, in a state of disappointment.
Ubisoft made the announcement via an official tweet, assuring fans that while the game wouldn’t feature at the event, development was still very much underway. The company assured that despite the setback, the game’s creation process remains active, and fans need not be concerned about its status.
According to a recent FAQ released by Ubisoft, the game, being handled by Ubisoft Montréal, is in its conception phase, an early stage in development. During this stage, Ubisoft Montréal is assembling the game development team, prioritizing tasks, developing initial prototypes, and testing various gameplay elements. This crucial process aims to ensure that the game will meet the high standards expected by fans and the gaming community alike.
One key piece of information from the FAQ is the confirmation that at present, Ubisoft has no plans to remake any other Prince of Persia titles. This decision concentrates resources and attention on The Sands of Time Remake, with no divided focus on other remakes within the Prince of Persia series.
As for the game’s release date, Ubisoft currently has not set a new one. They have assured fans, however, that when they are ready to announce a new release date, the information will be shared. Given the current lack of a release date, Ubisoft has taken the step to cancel and refund existing pre-orders where applicable. Despite this, Ubisoft stated that pre-orders might reopen once a new release date for the game is announced.
