Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Adds New Web Line Gadget
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is poised to elevate the gaming experience with the introduction of an array of new abilities and gadgets, among which the Web Line stands out. The game not only equips players with Symbiote powers to defeat villains but also offers an element of stealth, courtesy of the innovative Web Line gadget.
Staying true to the Marvel’s Spider-Man tradition, players can choose to approach encounters either with stealth, brute force, or a combination of both. The addition of new gadgets and abilities, tailored to support different playstyles, enhances the gaming experience. The Web Line gadget, revealed in the gameplay trailer, allows players to discreetly navigate the environment and surprise enemies. This can be deployed to cast a line over multiple adversaries, enabling Spider-Man to perform a dual takedown.
Miles Morales is also equipped with the Web Grabber, which pulls enemies together into a singular spot. It paves the way for Miles to employ his new Thunder Burst ability, releasing a ground-pound with an electric charge against a group of foes. Another of Morales’ abilities, Chain Lightning, causes a shocking effect within a radius, impacting any nearby enemies.
Navigating the city in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is designed to be faster and more exhilarating, thanks to the Web Wings. These can be activated by either Spider-Man to traverse the city rapidly. Players can use wind tunnels between skylines to move with speed. As they navigate above the city, they can zip past cars, buildings, people, and even pigeons.

Each Spider-Man character comes with a unique set of skills. Peter’s new Symbiote abilities contrast Miles’ newfound blue bioelectric powers. These skills can be upgraded via individual skill trees. To highlight the collaboration between the two heroes, a shared Skill Tree offers parallel upgrades for both, emphasizing their shared technology and training.
Although a concrete release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has not been set, the game is on track to debut in Fall 2023.
